Charles "Roddy" Wood

After the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, Roddy returned to New Zealand full-time, stepping away from his polo career. Seeing the need for demolition support, he decided to purchase trucks, starting Roddy Wood Trucking.
In 2018, Roddy’s trucking business evolved into Waireka Transport, which took on mini tanker diesel delivery. The company soon expanded into warehousing and metro transport. In 2021, Waireka added Hiab trucks and became the Waireka Group.
He started the Waireka Polo School to teach the sport to schools and individuals. Roddy is still an active player and runs a polo breeding program with his family.
“I love being part of the winning Waireka Team.”
